What does it do, and what problem does it solve?
The system provides a means of generating reproducible dust clouds for substantial durations from a small amount of bulk material which then provides a means of improving the accuracy of direct reading dust monitoring instrumentation by the generation of user calibrations specific to the material being tested.
The system provides a simple system that can be used to generate data for the process of risk assessment in terms of estimating the potential “dustiness” of a material and thus the application of appropriate dust controls.
ROTADOME® connected to a direct reading dust measurement instrument

Any workplace where dusts are generated
DRX 8533 User Calibration for a NSW Road Base
How It Works / Unique Technology
The ROTADUST® is based on the principle of semi-autogenous grinding and consists of a rotating drum containing the test dust and grinding balls. Air is drawn via four inlet holes in the drum cap into the drum and the generated dust cloud is transported to a plenum. A take-off probe then allows the dust cloud to be drawn into the ROTADOME® via an inlet at the top of the dome. The dust then cascades by gravity towards the base of the ROTADOME® during which three probes inserted into the dust cloud are available for dust extraction from the cascading dust cloud, for use calibrating instruments or for subsequent analytical analysis.
